This story is written by the founder himself, with words shaped by real events and the meaning behind the creation of airBeyond.

Back in 2019, I, Bharath Lodha, along with my friend Ashish Chauhan, was simply exploring what to build next. I was working in real estate in Bangalore, and Ashish was part of Integral Coach Factory (Indian Railways) in Chennai - a factory behind Vande Bharat Train. We were genuinely driven to build something meaningful, something that connected deeply with nature. Earlier, we had experimented with on-demand doorstep paper recycling, automated IoT based roof gardening, and organic farming, but none of those projects worked as it was too early for mass adoption.
Little did we know that airBeyond was waiting for us.
The Start.
On May 3rd, 2019, we came across an article claiming that air pollution was melting glaciers and that more than 3 million people were dying every year in India in 2019 which has increased in 2025 dangerously because of poor air quality. It was terrifying for us. We began researching more aggressively on this major issue which was often neglected.
That’s when we felt a calling to help people breathe better. We often wondered what it would feel like if everyone could breathe fresh, pure air every day. A trip we took to the Himalayas kept replaying in our minds. We imagined: “What if we could bring that feeling to people without them having to travel there?”
The Beyond Story.

Chapter 1: The Search
We bought and used around 10 to 12 air purifiers from different brands, including imported ones. But none of them made a real difference. We were frustrated by expensive filters, high maintenance costs, and products that simply didn’t work well in harsh Indian environments.

Chapter 2: The Idea
"Why don't we build our own?"
At the time, there was no business plan, no launch strategy, and no intention to sell anything. We simply wanted to create an air purifier that we would love using ourselves.

Chapter 3: Starting From Scratch
The journey wasn't easy.
In the early days, we couldn't even afford a 3D printer for prototyping. So instead of buying one, we decided to build our own 3D printer. It was unconventional, but it gave us the ability to turn ideas into reality.

Chapter 4: Thousands of Iterations
What followed was years of experimentation. We designed, tested, failed, improved, and repeated the process countless times. Using our self-built 3D printer, we created over 3,000–4,000 prototypes, refining every detail of the product. Every failure taught us something. Every prototype brought us one step closer to the product we had imagined.
This slowly turned into a strong desire to build a world-class product. We invested everything we had and even borrowed money from friends and family to keep going. After years of persistence, failures, research, and development, we finally saw the product come to life in 2024. For the first time, we experienced airBeyond exactly as we had imagined it. What started as a small dream had finally become a reality.
5 YEARS
3000+ Prototypes
18 hours of testing everyday.
₹2+ crores Invested.
Our stubbornness and dedication finally created a product far ahead of anything else available in the market.
With absolutely no marketing, we connected with 10,000+ people across India, purely through the genuineness of the product and the trust it inspired. In the end, airBeyond speaks louder than anything else.
We feel truly blessed to receive this much love and support, and even more grateful to have the opportunity to serve people across the country.
Thank you for believing in airBeyond. ❤️
